We hope you have had a wonderful holiday season and that your New Year is already full of creativity and happiness.

Once again, we would like to thank you all for your participation in 2007. The show’s success was due to your wonderful work and professionalism. You truly represent the top caliber artists that One of a Kind attendees look forward to seeing every year.

Here are a few highlights from the 2007 show:

We are thrilled to share that attendance at the show was up 20% from last year. We have received rave reviews from attendees regarding many positive changes in the show. Through our attendee surveys, we learned that 98% rated the show as good to excellent and would recommend it to a friend and 88% purchased something. We are proud of the good news and will continue to work on ways to draw a large and qualified attendee base each year.

After 2006’s record attendance numbers, we opened the floor to attendees Thursday at noon rather than Thursday night. We saw very strong attendance at the opening of the show and artists reported good sales throughout the day on Thursday. We plan to keep this additional selling day for artists for the 2008 show.

The Fine Art Booth package was a new addition to the show floor in 2007. These booths provided fine artists additional wall space and exposure to showcase their work in premium locations on the floor, as well as highlighted signage and directory listings. This new gallery style booth was received well by attendees and helped increase sales and exposure for One of a Kind fine art. More information about this year’s Fine Art Booth package will be available with your contract.

Also new in 2007, the Fine Art Gallery provided One of a Kind fine artists with a unique opportunity to display their work in an exclusive juried gallery space on the show floor. Centrally located on the south side of the floor, this space hosted special events for One of a Kind Show attendees and offered fine artists additional exposure in an upscale gallery environment. Many artists sold directly from this gallery space, so we look forward to offering this opportunity again in 2008.

Thanks to all of you who took the time to fill out the onsite and online surveys regarding the show. We appreciate your feedback. We work hard to make the show successful and we look to you for ways to improve. This year, we were able to make many improvements that came directly from your suggestions found in last year’s surveys. Please continue to email us new ideas and feedback at khogan@mmart.com.

Please Save the Date for the 2008 One of a Kind Show, December 4-7.

Contract packages for the 2008 show were mailed out to all 2007 participants on January 17, 2008. Please let us know if you do not receive your package by February 1. As a Returning Artist, you will be given booth placement priority and offered a discounted rate as long as your contract is returned by February 22nd with a deposit of $450. After this date, the New Artist rate will apply. If you have any questions, please contact Molly Iarocci at mIarocci@mmart.com.

We would like to thank you all for your cooperation and participation in our jury process for the 2007 show. Many of you had not been asked to re-apply since our first show in 2001. We now have updated images from all of you and were able to bring back the quality of art and presentation that One of a Kind was built on. Additionally, we are able to use your updated images on our website (in our new Artist Locator function) and in promotional material for the show and for you. Although we will not ask you to re-apply this year, we do plan to do so for future shows and will keep you informed so you can prepare as early as possible.

As many of you may know, we are thrilled to be launching our newest show, the One of a Kind Wholesale Show™ NYC August 16-19, 2008. We would love for you to be a part of it!
