CHICAGO, IL (June 18, 2007) – Market Square at the Merchandise Mart, the Mart’s newest design destination, is proud to announce the unveiling of the newly-expanded Kenneth Ludwig Home Furnishings showroom on the Merchandise Mart’s 15th floor. The 10,000-sq.ft. showroom expansion will better showcase Ludwig’s upholstery, case goods, wall décor and lighting collections in a boutique setting.
“We are thrilled to have Kenneth Ludwig Home Furnishings be a part of our launch of Market Square at the Merchandise Mart,” said Toni McIntosh, vice president of Leasing – Market Square. “Ken’s exclusive lines and unparalleled hospitality align perfectly with the look and feel of our newly-launched destination for design.”
Market Square at the Merchandise Mart taps the growing demand for home accents and furnishings that bridge fine retail and the luxury resources of the Design Center – uniquely satisfying both designers and lifestyle retailers with choice, convenience and quality. Ludwig’s newly-expanded showroom, just off of the Merchandise Mart’s Wells Street elevators in Suite 1510, is dedicated to the design trade and lifestyle retailers. The showroom will feature European fabrics, exquisite bedding, original artwork and exclusive accessories to compliment the existing offerings.
“I’ve been buying from Ken for seven years,” said Ron Ehlers, Metrotech Design Group. “When someone is nice to you, you go back. When you walk in with your client, it feels like a friendly atmosphere. I have developed a great relationship with Kenneth Ludwig Home Furnishings over the years.”
Ludwig’s lines include: PTMD, a Holland-based line making its “Swanky Chique” debut in Chicago with Ludwig: CTC, a Chicago-based company featuring amazing textiles and unique furniture; Emdee International, European fabrics for draperies and sheers and B. Williams Original Reproductions, an impressive line of abstract original art limited to 250 prints each.
“Our hospitality continues with a true designer-friendly work environment,” said Ludwig. “The clients’ experience will include computer workstations, e-mail access, printing capabilities, complimentary beverages at our coffee bar and coat and bag storage.”
