CHICAGO (November 12, 2007) – The One of a Kind Show and Sale®, the annual holiday shopping extravaganza featuring 450 artists, artisans and designers returns to The Merchandise Mart with an exciting roster of exhibitors and a Gourmet section featuring a variety of “edible art” including Michigan wines from Round Barn Winery and Free Run Cellars.
Nestled in the scenic rolling countryside of Southwest Michigan’s wine region, the family owned and operated Round Barn Winery & Distillery (formerly Heart of the Vineyard) is home to some of the best wines in the country. In the wine making business for twenty-eight years, Rick and Sherrie Moersch have built a thriving family business based on a spirited and educational atmosphere featuring quality, hand-crafted products. In early 2006, the Moersch’s sons, Matt and Chris Moersch, continued their family legacy with the conception of Free Run Cellars, a new winemaking venture in Berrien Springs, Michigan.
The One of a Kind Show and Sale will feature Round Barn’s diverse product line of whites, reds, specialties, desserts and brandies, as well as Free Run’s new and original flavors including the one of a kind syrah, dry rose made from pinot meunier a beautiful Alsatian style dry Gewurztraminer.
According to Chris Moersch, “We are very excited to participate in this year’s One of a Kind Show and Sale especially because our vineyard is right in Chicago's backyard on the other side of Lake Michigan. Chicago has been very receptive to our wines and we're eager to also introduce our artisan vodka to the shoppers at this show."
On Friday, December 7, 6-8 p.m., the Show will also highlight Round Barn Winery & Distillery’s latest creation, DiVine, with complimentary vodka drinks in the Show’s fashion district. Drawing on tradition, Master Vintner and Distiller Matthew Moersch takes pride in hand-crafting the product in their European copper pot still. He and his staff are “hands-on” for the entire process from harvesting grapes to distilling to bottling. Each bottle is personally signed by Moersch or by the founder of DiVine, Dave Otis of Chicago.
More than 30,000 people will walk the 8th floor of The Merchandise Mart in search of that perfect gift. Round Barn Wine and Distillery will be sure to please every oenophile with its distinctive tastes and original flavors.

General admission to the One of a Kind Show and Sale is $10 for adults and $7 for seniors and students with a valid student ID. Children under 12 years of age are free. Tickets may be purchased on the show website www.oneofakindshow.com at a special discount price of $7 per ticket. Tickets may also be purchased onsite at The Merchandise Mart during the show hours.
